Questions about ISO 9001:2026 Internal Audit Checklist
Do we need an internal audit against ISO 9001:2026 before the transition audit?
That is set by your certification body and its accreditation rules, not by the standard. Confirm it with them. Auditing against the new requirements first is a good practice, and the checklist flags them.
Are the questions yes or no questions?
No. They are open questions with prompts for the evidence to sample, which tends to produce better findings than a tick-box list.
Can I audit by process rather than by clause?
Yes. Every question is tagged to a typical process, and the process audit sheet filters the same question bank by process.
