What does an ISO 9001 lead implementer do?

A lead implementer plans, builds and maintains a quality management system: scoping, gap analysis, process design, documentation, training, internal audit and management review, through to certification readiness. A lead auditor, by contrast, evaluates whether a system conforms.

What you will be able to do

• Make the business case and turn the leadership commitments in clause 5.1.1 into a working leadership agenda, including quality culture and ethical behaviour.
• Run the implementation as a project: gap analysis, charter, plan, RACI, budget, and the clause 6.3 planning-of-changes considerations applied to the project itself.
• Design and document each clause area (4 to 10) without over-documenting: process patterns, KPIs, tooling choices (paper, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or an eQMS) and audit-readiness.
• Integrate with other management systems using the harmonized structure and scale the approach for small organisations.
• Choose a certification body, prepare for stage 1 and stage 2, handle nonconformities and plan surveillance.
